2.City Highlights Temple and Market Walking Tour

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 3,990 reviews · from $42

Small-group Bangkok tour covering Grand Palace, Emerald Buddha, and Wat Pho and Wat Arun options, plus market stops and local transport.

“Peter was extremely knowledgeable and clearly broke down what we were seeing in the palace. He put the story in history by giving background to the characters that appear regularly in the statues and paintings on the grounds. The mythology around the Thai dynasty was an engaging thriller and Peter brought it to life in the palace. It was also nice to be able to take the river ferry to the palace. This was our only chance to do so, so it was nice to have that experience through this tour.”

“Tony was wonderful! He made sure to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Loved his sense of humor and range of knowledge about Bangkok. Jack, our driver was fun and used music to bridge the language gap, he may have been the most fun part of the experience! Only thing I would change is the meeting point, was difficult to find if you’re not arriving by train; but Tony waited for us in spite of our late arrival. I wish they didn’t make the tuk tuk drivers sing the city name song, was awkward for them and us.”

Longtail boat through Bangkok canals to Big Buddha and Wat Arun. 2 hours with English guide, bottled water, Wat Pho drop-off.

“The tour guide deserves 5 stars for enthusiasm and presentation. The canals did not really have much to see. Aside from a tiny section when we got to the giant golden buddha, and then stopped at the artist center, the canals just faced the back of everyday residences, apartment buildings. Nothing worth seeing.”

We were able to see the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun. This is a walking tour and an efficient one in order to hit all the sites in a timely manner. So, it's a bit of a hustle but I still felt like I got a good taste and view of each site with a desire to revisit some of the activities or museums in the future when I have more time. Our guide was Nicky.…”
